5 Biggest flops Hindi movies of 2022!

2022 has not been a good year for Bollywood movies. Where south movies are creating records at the box office, Bollywood is giving back-to-back flops. Here are 5 Bollywood movies that unlike their initial hype bombed at the box office,

  1. Heropanti 2 (Released on April 29)

Heropanti 2 was the sequel to the 2014 movie Heropanti which was the debut movie of Tiger Shroff. Trying to recreate the success of the original movie, the makers released the sequel with a lot of hype but due to a bad plot and acting the venture got a lot of bad reviews. The movie also featured Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Tara Sutaria in the lead but still, it couldn’t do well at the box office and was declared a flop.

  1. Dhaakad ( Released 20 May, 2022)

Kangana Ranaut starrer Dhaakad featured the actress in a never seen avatar as a secret agent doing action however, it couldn’t perform well at the box office. This movie further clashed with Kartik Aaryan starrer Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 at the box office. As Dhaakad’s shows were mostly empty many multiplexes replaced the movie with more earning Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.

  1. Samrat Prithviraj (Released on June 3)

Akshay Kumar starrer Samrat Prithviraj received a lot of hate on the internet during the time of release. As Akshay has 5 releases in 2022, he finished the movie pretty quickly which rubbed the audience the wrong way. Furthermore, as this movie is based on the life of Rajput king Prithviraj Chauhan, many thought Akshay’s portrayal of the king was not right.

Also, this movie clashed with Kamal Haasan starrer Vikram and Adivi Sesh starrer Major at the box office. All these things stacked against the movie and it was later declared a flop at the box office.

  1. Laal Singh Chaddha (Released on August 11)

The Hindi adaptation of the Oscar-winning movie ‘Forrest Gump’, Laal Singh Chaddha is one of the biggest flops of Aamir Khan’s career. The movie fell victim to the Boycott culture, as it received a lot of backlash from the netizens due to the previous statements of Aamir and Kareena Kapoor Khan.

Despite Aamir’s effort to promote the movie, Laal Singh Chaddha bombed at the box office which also affected the digital rights deal of the venture. After this movie, Aamir decided to take a break from acting and focus only on producing the movies.

  1. Liger ( Released on August 25)

Vijay Deverakonda’s Bollywood debut movie Liger despite the huge anticipation flopped at the box office. Vijay and Ananya Panday did all they could to promote the movie. However, Vijay’s nonchalant attitude towards the Boycott culture and big claims regarding the movie, rubbed viewers the wrong way. Furthermore, the simple cliché story of the movie also didn’t help at the box office.

Aside from these movies, there were other massive flops at the box office like Bachchhan Paandey (March 18), Attack: Part 1( April 1), Jersey (April 22), Runway 34 (April 29), Jayeshbhai Jordaar ( May 13), Rashtra Kavach Om ( July 1), Shamshera (July 22), and so on.
