Aanand L Rai announces that Akshay Kumar starrer Gorkha has been shelved at the moment

A while it was reported that Akshay Kumar was reuniting with Aanand L Rai for a biopic Gorkha. The movie was said to be based on the life of Major General Ian Cardozo who was a legendary officer of the Gorkha regiment of the Indian Army (5th Gorkha Rifles). However, recently Akshay walked out of the project without revealing any reasons and now Aanand L Rai has also confirmed that the movie has been shelved.

Talking about the same, Aanand said, “Yes, it is true. We are not making this film for now. There are technical issues. There are factual clarifications that need to be made.” The producer also clarified that Akshay has not “walked out of the project” and it was a mutual agreement between him and the actor to postpone the movie.

The producer also claimed that they will circle back to this movie after clearing out all factual ambiguities.
