Akshay Kumar steps away from Awara Pagal Deewana, Hera Pheri, and Welcome sequels

A while back it was reported that Akshay Kumar is planning to revive his old comedy hits like Awara Pagal Deewana, Hera Pheri, and Welcome. Producer Firoz Nadiadwala brought some scripts for the sequels to the actor but as Akshay didn’t find the story likable he stepped out of the projects.

According to the latest reports, as the actor did not find the story worthy of sequels he walked away from the projects. A source close to the project said that Akshay is well aware of viewers’ expectations and he wasn’t willing to compromise on the quality of the scripts to make these sequels without proper care. Akshay did not want the sequels to start and be dropped mid-way due to poor planning.

Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal were cast in this movie and after shooting for over a month the project was dropped altogether. Welcome’s sequel was also made with John Abraham as the lead in 2015 but the movie did not flare well like the original.

To avoid such failure Akshay is having strict requirements for the scripts as well as the planning of the projects. Unless such requirements are fulfilled by the makers the actor won’t be making these sequels and will only be focusing on his already busy schedule.
