Another massive win from Tamil cinema: PS1 surpasses Kamal Haasan’s Vikram collections!

One after another, Tamil cinema is raking in profits at the box office with hits like Vikram, RRR, and PS1. Recently Kamal Haasan’s Vikram created a new record at the box office after surpassing Baahubali’s collection. Now Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan has surpassed Vikram’s collection and created another record for the industry.

Making huge profits for the production company Madra Talkies and Lyca, the movie has minted Rs 400 crores worldwide after being released on September 30. The movie has collected Rs 175 crore in Tamil Nadu alone which has topped the rs 172 crore collected by Vikram. Now, Ponniyin Selvan 1 has become the highest-grossing Tamil movie in Tamil Nadu and people are expecting its sequel to break this record soon.
