Ayushmann Khurrana and Jaideep Ahlawat starrer An Action Hero released! Click to see the review
Ayushmann Khurrana and Jaideep Ahlawat starrer, An Action Hero was released today. The movie has created a lot of hype ever since the trailer was released and after seeing the venture, one can say this Anirudh Iyer’s directorial doesn’t disappoint.
The movie centers around Manav Khurrana (Ayushmann Khurrana) who is India’s biggest action hero. He flees to London after he accidentally kills a top politician’s brother. Manav decides to fight the legal battle from London however, much to his surprise the politician, Bhoora (Jaideep Ahlawat) lands in London to kill him. Now Manav has to do action in real life to save himself from the cops and goons that are after him.
The screenplay, execution, and narration work well during the first half. The savage one-liners and performance of Ayushmann and Jaideep keep the audience hooked. Akshay Kumar’s cameo is also well-placed in the movie and the cat-and-mouse chase between Manav and Bhoora in London keeps the viewers entertained.
The background music of the movie the tempo of the flow everything is well planned. However, the second half of the movie might get different reactions from the viewers. The second half and climax do have their own moments but for some, it might have been repetitive.
What doesn’t work?
As said above the cat-and-mouse change becomes a little repetitive in the second half. Malaika Arora’s song also doesn’t add any sort of value to the movie and looks like a bad recreation of an iconic song. In some scenes one wonders, why aren’t the characters killing anyone, and why is it always a narrow escape.
Other than these points, the movie does a good job, and the performance of the actors is also great. Ayushmann Khurrana does a great job in this new avatar and the narration by director Anirudh is also great.
