Chiyaan Vikram & Pa Ranjith’s ‘Thangalaan’ update: Shooting taking place in Madurai!

Director Pa Ranjith unveiled the title of his upcoming collaboration with Chiyaan Vikram, ‘Thangalaan’ on Sunday. The movie is touted as a magnum opus period action drama and its title was announced with a spellbinding glimpse teaser, matching the project’s reputation.

The shooting of this project started on October 17 in Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh and it has been reported that the short schedule first shot schedule has been wrapped up recently. According to new updates, the shoot will now move to Madurai. The reports also said that the team will be shooting a long schedule there for a couple of weeks.

Talking more about the movie, Thangalaan is a project based on real-life incidents of mine workers in the KGF before independence. Apart from Chiyaan Vikram, the movie features Parvathy, Pasupathy, and Malavika Mohanan in pivotal roles.

On the work front, Chiyaan Vikram was recently seen in the blockbuster hit Ponniyin Selvan 1 and the shooting of the 2nd part is expected to start soon as well. Meanwhile, Vikram’s long-delayed film ‘Dhruva Natchathiram’ directed by Gautham Menon is also gearing up for a grand release by the year-end.
