Click to know why Rajkumar Santoshi was outright ‘scared’ for his upcoming movie Gandhi Godse Ek Yudh

Rajkumar Santoshi is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming movie Gandhi Godse Ek Yudh. The movie is set to release on January 26, and recently it was okayed by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

Talking about the same, the filmmaker revealed that he was ‘scared’ thinking if the CBFC will approve of his movie or not. “Even here, my film has a very different take on Gandhi. I was actually scared that the censor may not pass the film altogether,” he said. However, the filmmaker breathed a sigh of relief as, unlike his worries, the board passed the movie with a single cut.

For those who don’t know, Gandhi Godse Ek Yudh is set in the early post-independence India of 1947-48, and it shows the ideological war between Nathuram Godse and Mahatma Gandhi. As this movie shows Godse’s side of the argument, revealing his reasons for shooting Gandhi, the filmmaker was scared the board will not pass the movie. Furthermore, as currently, several other Bollywood projects are undergoing several cuts by the board, it is obvious that Rajkumar Santoshi was worried about his upcoming movie.
