The franchise has not only entertained people but has also rebranded Rocking star Yash as Rocky Bhai. His already big stardom has reached an all-time high with KGF and his Rocky Bhai style is loved by millions of fans all around the world. However, like the movie, the actor didn’t start big and had a very humble beginning.

Yash was born on January 8, 1986, in Buvanhalli village in the Hassan district of Karnataka. The actor’s real name is Naveen Kumar Gowda and he came from a humble background. His father Arun Kumar was a bus driver and his mother was a housewife. The actor also had a younger sister named Nandini.

Career start and debut

Yash started his journey as a theatre artist. He joined a theatre group, the Benaka drama troupe, and worked as a backstage worker for ₹50 per day. He then got promoted as a backup actor and in 2004 got the lead role in a play. Later he made his TV debut with a teleserial called Uttarayana. He played several roles in other serials as well and during this time he was offered 7 movies. However, looking for the right script the actor rejected the movie and people viewed it as “arrogance from a newcomer.”

Nonetheless, Yash found the right script for him and made his debut in 2007 with a supporting role in Priya Hassan’s Jambada Hudugi. Later he was also seen in a supporting role in Shashank’s movie Mohini Mansu in 2008. The actor starred as the lead in the movie Rocky in the same year but it failed at the box office.

First hit, breakthrough, and married life

His first hit was Modalasala in 2010 and following that he gave another hit Rajdhani in 2011. The actor then got a lot of recognition and later continued to give hits like Kiratka, Googly, Raja Huli, Gajakesari, Mr And Mrs Ramachari, Masterpiece, and Santhu Straight Forward.

The actor then got married to his co-star Radhika Pandit on December 9, 2016, and now they have a son, Atharva, and a daughter, Arya together.

After getting married, the actor along with his wife Radhika Pandit founded the Yash Marg Foundation which has worked hard to solve the water problem in the Koppal district of Karnataka. Yash, being a man with a golden heart has donated about Rs 4 crore through this foundation for the clean lakes project in the district. The foundation has also helped a lot while providing drinking water to the village with water scarcity.
