Gerard Butler and Ali Fazal starrer Kandahar get a release date!

After a long wait, Ali Fazal’s international project Kandahar has finally received a release date. The movie, which has Gerard Butler as the main lead is set to debut on May 26, 2023. For those who don’t know, Khandahar will be Ali’s first international release of this year after his last year’s release Death on the Nile.

Talking about the movie, Ali said, “I look forward to it. As I do with all the movies I make. I can promise that the action is never before seen state-of-the-art stuff. Ric Roman is beating his own record. The team has really worked hard. It was a great pleasure for me to work with Gerard and since it is looking at a worldwide release, we are hoping people across the globe enjoy it.”

Helmed by Ric Roman Waugh, Kandahar is financed by Gerard himself along with Christian Mercuri, Basil Lwayk Sr., Erica Lee, Ali Jaafar, Alan Siegel, and Scott LaStaiti. Gerard is playing the role of Tom Harries, an undercover CIA operative stuck deep in hostile territory in Afghanistan. Fighting through the resistance with his Afghan translator, he sets out to reach an extraction point in Kandahar all while avoiding the elite special forces that are hunting them down.
