James Gunn provides a release update of Peacemaker Season 2!
James Gunn recently showed a glimpse of 10 new projects he has in store for the new phase of DCU. A new Superman movie, a Creature Commandos animated show, and A Green Lantern TV series were some of the projects he had shown among the said 10 ventures. However, John Cena’s Peacemaker was absent from Gunn’s list which made fans speculate that the project has been put on the back-burner.

Though, last fall, Gunn said that the second season of Peacemaker would be shot ‘in just a few months’, not seeing its name created a lot of doubts in the mind of the viewers. Replying to such doubts, Gunn replied to a tweet saying the second season was “just postponed” as they are busy working on “Superman: Legacy [and] Waller first.”

Talking about the same Gunn said, “Viola Davis is coming back as her character, Amanda Waller. This is also going to have some of the ‘Peacemaker ‘team in it as regulars on the show. This basically follows up ‘Peacemaker’. We have two great creatives working on it: Christal Henry, who was a writer on Watchmen, and Jeremy Carver who created Doom Patrol. They have this incredibly marvelous story worked out that I think is really fantastic.”
Gunn’s co-CEO Peter Safran also chipped in on this subject and said that Waller will actually “sit between Peacemaker Season 1 and Season 2.”
“Viola [Davis] is still playing Waller and she has Team Peacemaker in this. This is really a continuation from Peacemaker,” Gunn added.
