Allius Caesar (Raghava Lawrence) who is an notorious gangster and leads Jigarthanda club in Madurai determined to become a cinema hero and listen stories from different directors. Finally he gets impressed with director Ray Dason (SJ Suryah) narration of story while the director plans to direct Caesar life story as his debutant film. Rest of the story goes on how the gangster becomes hero form the crux..

The major plus of the film is taking to different characters like gangster and cinema director to a stage and casting Raghava Lawrence and SJ Suryah for the roles is as perfect as it is. Raghava Lawrence proved his mettle of acting as Allius Caeser and is as good as gangster. Lawrence just beileved in his acting skills in emotional scenes.

SJ Suryah as Ray Dason is awesome and couldn’t imagine others in this as perfect as him. His perfect sync scenes with Lawrence are worth watchable on big screens. Naveen Chandra, Tom Chacho and others are good in their roles. Second half brings the much needed emotions and action scenes choreographed well.

Everyone who watched Jigarthanda Double X on silver screens could easily say that major drawback of this film is its first half which is wasted with character introduction and bringing up that build-up seems it is lagged all the way. Editor could have trimmed few scenes in first half and some sequences in second part. Few characters couldn’t seen in this lengthy story line. Emotional scenes lacks that impact in few portions.

Jigarthanda Double X has terrific cinematography to watch Hollywood actor Clint Eastwood and exclusively screens Eastwood’s films on big screens. Background scores and musical score by Santosh Narayanan have high technical values. Karthik Subbaraj succeded in taking out the best performance from the lead stars and so the production values. Jigarthanda Double X manages to come up with solid characterization like Lawrence and SJ Suryaj and rest are just fine.
