Kiefer Sutherland gets roped in to play a disgraced cop in ‘The Winter Kills’

Kiefer Sutherland has signed his next movie. According to the reports, the actor has been roped in to star in the action-thriller movie The Winter Kills for XYZ Films. The venture is being helmed by John Stalberg. Jr and its shooting will start this coming spring in New Jersey.

As per the logline from XYZ, Sutherland will play a “disgraced cop [that] pursues the serial killer who murdered his partner ten years ago – and has resurfaced, killing again,” in The Winter Kills. Other than that no further details regarding the plot have been announced at the moment.

Written by Ben Floro Carney, the screenplay of The Winter Kills was plucked from a recent version of the Black List – an annual report of the most-liked scripts in Hollywood that are not produced. This venture will be financed by Patrick Rizzotti, Paul Johansson, David Guglielmo Wyatt Russell, Oliver Hudson, Stalberg, and XYZ.

Talking about the Winter Kills, Stalberg said, “Kiefer Sutherland is more than just the perfect actor for this film, he’s an absolute legend, and I’m beyond thrilled to match his rare talent with a role that will require every ounce of it.
