Kuttey Review: Arjun Kapoor and Tabu starrer does well but falls short to optimize its potential!

Today Arjun Kapoor, Tabu, Naseeruddin Shah, Konkona Sensharma, Kumud Mishra, Radhika Madan, and Shardul Bhardwaj starrer Kuttery was released and if you are planning to give your valuable time to this movie, then this review might help.

Kuttey is basically based on the common human emotion, greed which leads to the never-ending need for money. The movie starts with Gopal( Arjun Kapoor) and Paaji ( Kumud Mishra) getting into trouble. They plan to bail out of their trouble and while doing so they meet a few more characters. With a van full of money and a lot of trouble, what do you think these troublemakers did? Do they manage to solve their problems or will their greed lands them in even bigger trouble is the main plot of the movie.

 What works?

The second half of the movie is great. The overall experience is unique and rare for a Hindi movie. Director Aasmaan Bhardwaj also does a daring job to show such a concept. Dialogues from Vishal Bhardwaj are great. Other than that, the music and background music by Vishal Bhardwaj is great and it even helps alleviate the lackluster scenes even more.

What does not work?

The movie has a lacking first half and it struggles to keep viewers’ attention. The second half does keep up the pace but falls flat during the final. The actual screenplay and scenes are weak and had to rely on the captivating background score to keep the flow going. The editing of the movie is lackluster and the action choreographed by Harpal Singh and Anton Moon does not look great on the screen.

The cast gives a remarkable performance but the lackluster first half and action scenes hold the movie back. It does manage to entertain the audience but it could not tap into the full potential of the concept.
