Morgan Freeman has been roped in by the writer-director duo Stéphanie Chuat and Véronique Reymond to star in the English remake of their 2010 film La Petite Chambre. As per the Hollywood Reporter, the director duo has cast Laurence Fishburne and Kate Mara to join Morgan Freeman in this venture.
For those who don’t know La Petite Chambre is the directorial debut venture of Chuat and Reymond. The director duo is coming back together again to write and direct again for the remake and they have described The Little Bedroom as “a story of life and hope but mainly of the heart.”
This film centers around the life of John, a man of old age and a weakened heart. He still clings to his independence and is unwilling to get into a retirement home on his son Michael’s attempts. He is also averse to receiving help from his home nurse, Rose. John is forced to rely on her, however, due to some terrible accident, they get close and form a close bond that is beneficial for both of them.
Vega Film who financed the original film will be producing this venture alongside Gary Foster and Russ Kransnoff under their Krasnoff/Foster Entertainment banner.
