After the grand success of Ponniyin Selvan 1, the expectation of fans for the second part is through the roof at the moment. Mani Ratnam’s movie was another win for South cinema and now the crew has started working to match the audience’s expectations for the second part as well.

Previously it was reported that the makers were eyeing for April release next year for the 2nd installment, but now it has been reported that they have fixed the date as well. According to the latest updates, the makers are planning to release the movie on April 28, 2023. The announcement of this development is expected to come today at the success meeting, of the movie.

Coming back to the movie, Ponniyin Selvan is based on the novel of the same name which is written by Kalki Krishnamurthy. The movie is being made in two parts and the first part was released on September 30, 2022. The movie features Chiyaan Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Karthi, Trisha Krishnan, Prakash Raj, Jayaram, Jayam Ravi, and Aishwarya Lekshmi, in the lead roles.
