Mumbai Court dismisses dowry case filed against Nawazuddin Siddiqui

Recently Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s ‘former’ wife Aaliya Siddiqui registered a case of dowry harassment against Nawazuddin Siddiqui and his family and claimed that his family allegedly tortured her, placed her into house arrest, and forced her and their children to only use a select few facilities within their residence. However, upon hearing the points of Nawazuddin’s lawyer Mumbai Court dismissed two pleas.

According to recent reports, lawyers Adnan Shaikh and Drishti Khurana alleged that the couple is not married anymore. Providing evidence of the same, the lawyers presented the divorce documents of Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Aaliya Siddiqui aka Zainab to the court. The lawyers also alleged that the other party had concealed the divorce documents while only presenting the marriage documents. Following this, the Mumbai court dismissed the two pleas filed against Nawazuddin.

For those who don’t know, Aaliya Siddiqui claimed that she and her kids were being tortured by Nawaz’s parents in their house and even went on to social media to post videos of how there were security guards in her residence. These shared videos showed the guards refusing access to basic facilities like bathrooms and toilets to Aaliya and her kids.

Coming back to the case, Aaliya filed an FIR at Versova police station against Nawazuddin Siddiqui and his family under sections 498A, 509, and others of IPC on the grounds of dowry harassment and protection of women’s rights.
