In this regard, many were speculating that the couple violated the surrogacy rules in India. To investigate this TN health minister M. Subramaniam constituted a three-member committee. The first level of investigation started at the private hospital in Chennai where the children were born. The celebrity couple might also get summoned to progress the inquiry further.

A complaint has also been lodged at the City Commissioners’ office against the couple by one Charles Alexander. In the petition, he claims that surrogacy is only allowed after a year of marriage and by confirming that the couple can’t have a baby naturally. As the couple has only been married for four years, he claims the couple’s act of opting for surrogacy is illegal and is setting a bad example for the youth and culture.
