Samantha Ruth Prabhu starrer Shaakuntalam POSTPONED once AGAIN!

Samantha Ruth Prabhu starrer Shaakuntalam which was originally set to release on November 4, 2022, was rescheduled to hit the theatres on February 17, 2023. Now the movie has been postponed again and the makers have announced that they will share the new release date of the venture soon. The makers announced the same by releasing a statement today via their social media handle.

“WE REGRET TO INFORM OUR BELOVED AUDIENCE THAT WE WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO RELEASE SHAAKUNTALAM THIS 17TH OF FEBRUARY, WE WOULD BE ANNOUNCING THE RELEASE DATE SOON. THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT AND LOVE,” the statement read. “The theatrical release of #Shaakuntalam stands postponed. The new release date will be announced soon,” they captioned the post.

Helmed by Gunasekar this mythological drama features Samantha and Dev Mohan in the lead roles. The movie is financed by Gunaa Teamworks and it also features Mohan Babu, Sachin Khedekar, Gautami, Aditi Balan, Ananya Nagalla, and Varshini Sounderajan in key roles. Shaakuntalam is based on the Abhijnanashakuntalam, written by poet Kalidasa and it will release in 3D format.
