Selfiee box office early estimates; Akshay Kumar starrer likely to open with less than Rs 5 crore

Akshay Kumar who has a terrible run at the box office last year had his first release of 2023 with Selfiee today. The actor was hoping to turn a new leaf this year with Selfiee but early box office estimates hint that the movie will have an underwhelming performance on the first day. According to the prediction by the industry analyst firm Ormax Media, the Akshay Kumar starrer is expected to open with around Rs 4.8 crore nett on the first day.

Though the final numbers are yet to be revealed, industry tracker Sacnilk has also concurred that the movie will collect around Rs 4 crore to 5 crore on the first day due to the low advance sales. The movie was screened in over 3,000 theatres domestically and it is expected that unless it received good word of mouth it will continue to struggle at the box office.

Helmed by Raj Mehta, Selfiee is the Hindi remake of the Malayalam film Driving License and it features Akshay, Emraan Hashmi, Diana Penty, and Nushrratt Bharuccha as the lead cast. The movie also has a cameo from Mrunal Thakur.
