Shahid Kapoor confirms Farzi 2 is happening; says it will take around two years for its release!

Shahid Kapoor, Vijay Sethupathi, and Raashii Khanna starrer, Farzi, was recently released on Prime Video, and despite two weeks of its release, the series is ranked number 1 among the Prime Video shows globally, based on overall online engagement. Seeing the success of the show many were speculating about its sequel and now to answer all those questions Shahid has confirmed that Farzi 2 is happening.

While interacting with the media at Zee Cine Awards 2023 Shahid revealed that the sequel is happening but it will take time for its release. “I am sure hoga lekin in cheezon mein waqt lagta hai – der do saal lagte hain kyunki show khatam hone ke baad ek saal lagta hai uskey post-production main. (I am sure there will be a Farzi season 2, but these things take time. Post-production takes one-and-a-half to two years),” he said.

He further added, “Woh usko 35-40 languages mein dub karte hai aur 200 countries mein release karte hai.Jab shoot hoga toh uske ek saal baad release hoga, toh I think der do saal toh hai Farzi Season 2 mein definitely (They dub the series in 35-40 languages and released in over 200 countries. When the shoot happens, the release will take another two years. So, I think there are still around two years left before the release of Farzi 2).”

Helmed by Raj and DK, Farzi featured Shahid Kapoor, Vijay Sethupathi, Raashii Khanna, Kay Kay Menon, Bhuvan Arora, Regina Cassandra, and Amol Palekar in pivotal roles. The show started streaming on Prime Video on February 10.
