Shankar-Suriya mega project update; Movie to kickstart in January 2023?

The talks of director Shankar and Suriya joining hands for a big-budget project have been going on the internet for quite some time now. According to reports, the movie is based on the historical novel  ‘Velpari’ written by Su Venkatesan. Hinting towards, this project the actor said he is working on something big at the audio launch of ‘Viruman’.

Now, according to the latest reports, the movie is expected to kickstart in January 2023. Director Karthik Subbaraj learned and shared this info after his confirmation with Shankar. Karthik Subbaraj also reported that Velpari will be made in three parts and will have a massive budget of 1000 crore rupees.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Shankar is currently in the middle of two big projects, ‘Indian 2’ featuring Kamal Haasan and ‘RC15’ featuring Ram Charan. Both movies are pan-Indian projects and fans are eagerly waiting for them.

On the other hand, Suriya is currently working in Vaadivasal with director Vetrimaaran and in Suriya 42 with director Siruthai Siva.
