SS Rajamouli receives the Best Director for RRR at NYFCC!

SS Rajamouli who has given remarkable movies over the year has bagged the Best Director award at the New York Film Critics Circle Awards 2022 for RRR. He received the award on Thursday and a video of him being cheered loudly by the audience has been going viral on the internet. The director even received a standing ovation from the audience as he walked up to receive the award.

After getting the award, the director mentioned Terminator 2 in his speech and said he was always fascinated by the power of cinema. “It was pure joy of awe, like what in the hell we just witnessed. That is what I want my audiences to feel,” he said.

The director was with his wife and son Karthikeya at the ceremony. Next, the director will attend the Golden Globes awards in Los Angeles for RRR. He will be joined by Ram Charan and Jr NTR along with the rest of the team for the award function. Also, RRR has been shortlisted for Oscars in the Music (Original Song) category for the song Naatu Naatu.
