Sundar C chose Vishal as Jayam Ravi’s replacement for his magnum opus

Sundar C who unveiled the first look poster of his ambitious magnum opus Sangamithra at the 72^nd Cannes Film Festival has found a replacement for Jayam Ravi for the venture. According to the latest reports, the filmmaker has roped in Vishal as Jayam Ravi’s replacement. An official announcement regarding the same is expected to come soon.

Arya, Jayam Ravi, Shruti Haasan, AR Rahman, and Sundar C at 72 Cannes Film Festival

Previously, the movie had Arya, Shruti Haasan, and Jayam Ravi playing the lead roles however after getting delayed over and over again, Shruti Haasan opted out of the venture due to personal differences. Later it was reported that Disha Patani will be replacing Shruti in Sangamithra but eventually the movie was shelved altogether due to financial problems.

Now, it has been reported that the venture has been revived and production will begin soon. As per reports, Jayam Ravi walked out of Sangamithra due to his tight schedule. If reports are to be believed Jayam also didn’t want to do another historical movie after Ponniyin Selvan.
