Thalaivar Rajinikanth starts Y Gee Mahendra’s new film, Charukesi!
Thalaivar Rajinikanth officially announced Y Gee Mahendra’s next movie today at an event held in Chennai. The movie is titled Charukesi and it is based on a popular stage play that goes by the same name. Rajinikanth not only announced the project but also commenced it by performing the first clap.
Talking about the venture at the event, Rajinikanth said, “In 1975, when I went to see the play Ragasiyam Parama Ragasiyam, I was not allowed in. But now I am here as the special guest at the 50th show of Charukesi. This is all an act of time. Popular actors including Nagesh, Jayalalithaa, Cho, Visu etc., are from the UAA theater troupe. It is a very disciplined troupe with many educated people and experts from various fields.”
“As far as this drama is concerned, the story, screenplay, characters, and dialogues are all well placed. The cinema industry has not used an actor like Y Gee Mahendra to his full potential. I am confident that this play will be a huge success when it is made into a film. Vasanth will write the screenplay which will add more strength to the film,” added Rajinikanth.
Coming back to the project, Charukesi will be directed by Y Gee Mahendra and financed by Sri Agraharam Rajalakshmi Production. The movie will have its screenplay written by Vasanth S Sai and Y Gee Mandra himself will be playing the lead role.
