Thalapathy 67 satellite rights bagged by Sun TV! Digital rights go to Netflix!

Thalapathy Vijay is currently busy shooting the climax of Varisu in Hyderabad and later in December, he plans to kickstart his next project ‘Thalapathy 67’ with director Lokesh Kanagaraj. The hype of this movie is so great that even before the movie started its digital rights and satellite rights have been sold for an astronomical price.

Previously we reported that the digital rights of the movie have been sold for somewhere around 150-170 crores. Now it has been reported that the digital rights have been bagged by Netflix for Rs 160 crores. As for the Satellite Rights, Sun TV has bagged them for Rs 80 crores. Even before the movie officially starts, the movie has earned a whopping Rs 240 crores with pre-sales business, which speaks volumes about Vijay’s stardom.

Coming back to the movie, Thalapathy 67 is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and it is touted to be a gangster thriller with seven villains. Vijay will be playing the role of a 40-year-old gangster in the movie and Sanjay Dutt will be playing one of the villains. As per reports, the makers are planning to release the venture on Pooja Holidays or Diwali depending on the pace of shooting.
