Varisu box office collections; Vijay starrer crosses 200 crore mark in India!

Thalapathy Vijay starrer Varisu which was released on January 11 has crossed the Rs 200 crore mark at the domestic belt in the third weekend. The movie minted around Rs9.50 crores over its third weekend. Though the movie experienced a major drop in the third weekend, Varisu has still crossed the Rs 200 mark at the domestic belt. This makes Varisu, Vijay’s third movie to enter the Rs 200 club at the Indian belt after Bigil and Master.

As one would have expected the majority of these numbers were collected from the Tamil belt as the movie minted around Rs 135 crores in Tamil Nadu alone to date. If all goes well, it is expected that the movie will cross the Rs 150 crore mark in Tamil Nadu in the coming days despite the major drop in the collection.

Starring Thalapathy Vijay and Rashmika Mandanna in lead, this Vamshi Paidipally faced a major clash with Ajith Kumar’s Thunivu but give great numbers at the box office. Following are the box office collections of Varisu at the Indian Belt;

Week One – Rs. 156 crores (9 days)

Week Two – Rs. 38.50 crores

3rd Friday – Rs. 2 crores

3rd Saturday – Rs. 3.25 crores

3rd Sunday – Rs. 4.25 crores

Also, the movie has earned $10.75 million (Rs. 88 crores) to date at the foreign belt and it will soon hit the Rs 300 crore mark globally.
