Veteran editor GG Krishna Rao passed away

Veteran Telugu film editor GG Krishna Rao passed away earlier today in Bengaluru due to age-related ailments. Krishna was famous for his work in the 80s Telugu cinema and he has worked in over 200 films throughout his career.

He has collaborated with several famous directors as K Viswanath, Dasari Narayana Rao, Bapu, and Jandhyala. Krishna has won three Nandi film awards for movies like Vishwanath’s Saptapadi, Sagara Sangamam, and Subhasankalpam.

Shankarabharanam (1980), Swathimuthyam (1985), Sardar Papa Rayadu (1980), Sutradharulu (1989), Seethamahalakshmi (1978), Subhalekha (1982), Muddha Mandaram (1981), Bobbili Puli (1982), and Subha Sankalpam (1995), are a few of Krishna’s famous works as an editor. Aside from working on Telugu movies, he has also worked in Hindi and Tamil ventures like Sur Sangam (1985), Milan (1967), Eswar (1989), Jwar Bhata (1973), Mastana (1970), Salangai Oli (1983) and Ezhumalaiyan Mahimai (1997).

Krishna last worked with directors K Viswanath and Bapu in Subhapradam (2010) and Sri Rama Rajyam (2011), respectively. Apart from working as an editor, Krishna has also worked on sets, as an associate director and production designer.
