Vijay’s Varisu and Ajith’s Thunivu cross the Rs 100 crore mark in India!

Thalapathy Vijay starrer Varisu and Ajith Kumar starrer Thunivu were both released on the same date January 11 and both movies’ gross collections have now crossed the Rs 100 crore mark in the Indian belt in the opening week. Despite the big clash, both movies are doing great at the box office and it looks like Varisu has a slight lead over Thunivu so far.

The movies also faced the clash with big Telugu movies like Veera Simha Reddy and Waltair Veerayya but they managed to mint great numbers at both the domestic and International box office. According to the reports, Varisu has collected over $ 1 million in the US while Thunivu has minted over $900k. To talk more in detail,  Varisu has earned Rs 85.7 crore nett at the Indian belt and Thunivu has earned Rs 68 crore nett so far.

Though Varisu is slightly leading the run as these movies faced several movies at the box office, crossing the Rs100 cr mark during the opening week is a great win for both Thalapathy Vijay and Ajith Kumar.
