Vivek Agnihotri goes for a walk with his Y-category security cover; says, “The price one has to pay to show the Genocide of Hindus in Kashmir”

Director Vivek Agnihotri shared a video of him going for a morning walk around the city today. The director is accompanied by his Y-category security cover in the video and Vivek says this is “The price one has to pay to show the Genocide of Hindus in Kashmir.”

Sharing the video on his Twitter handle the director wrote a caption saying, “The price one has to pay to show the Genocide of Hindus in Kashmir. In a Hindu majority country. Freedom of expression, ha!” Along with the caption the director also posted tags saying, “#ImprisonedInOwnCountry” and “#Fatwa”.

For those who don’t know, Fatwa is basically a legal announcement that lets an Islam scholar declare his judgment on any kind of legal issue about Islam. Normally fatwa has smaller punishments but in rarer cases, the death penalty is applied. On the day ‘The Kashmir Files’ was announced, a fatwa was issued against the director which put Vivek’s life at risk.
