Zootopia 2 confirmed; Frozen 3 and Toy Story 5 announced!

After 7 years finally, the sequel to the critically acclaimed 2016 film Zootopia has been announced by Disney. The movie made over $1 billion at the global box office after its release, but so far makers never announced the sequel that is until now.

Disney announces the sequel to Zootopia

Now Disney has announced that Zootopia 2 is finally in the works. Disney CEO, Bob Iger, announced the same during Disney’s Q1 earnings call. Not only that Iger also announced that Frozen and Toy Story will also be getting another part soon. “Today I’m so pleased to announce that we have sequels in the works from our animation studios to some of our most popular franchises, Toy Story, Frozen, and Zootopia. We’ll have more to share about these productions soon. But this is a great example of how we’re leaning into our unrivaled brands and franchises,” Iger explained.

Helmed by Jared Bush, Zootopia has vocals from Ginnifer Goodwin, Jason Bateman, Jenny Slate, J. K. Simmons, Octavia Spencer, Alan Tudyk, Idris Elba, and Shakira. Following the movie, Disney released a series of shorts titled Zootopia+ previously with 6 episodes.
