Besharam Rang row: CBFC asks makers to implement changes in Pathaan before the release
Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, starrer Pathaan is set to hit the theatres on January 25, 2023, and before the release, the movie is facing a lot of trouble due to its song Besharam Rang. The song was released a while ago and it has been the topic of controversy ever since. Now, even the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has asked the makers to make ‘changes’ to the movie before its release.
According to the reports, the CBFC has asked the film’s producer Yash Raj Films to present an updated version of the movie as per the board guidelines. The details regarding the changes suggested by the CBFC have not been disclosed at the moment. “The film recently reached the CBFC examination committee for certification. The film went through the due and thorough examining process as per the CBFC guidelines. The committee has guided the makers to implement the advised changes in the film including the songs and submit the revised version prior to theatrical release,” chairperson Prasoon Joshi said on this matter.
Talking more about the reason behind such an action, Prasoon said, “I must reiterate that our culture and faith is glorious, intricate and nuanced. And we have to be careful that it does not get defined by trivia which takes the focus away from the real and the true. And like I have said earlier as well, that the trust between creators and audience is most important to protect and the creators should keep working towards it.”
