Avatar: The Way of Water has joined Cameron’s Titanic (1997) and the first installment of Avatar (2009) to give such achievement to the director. Aside from these, Avengers: Endgame ($2.7 billion), Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($2.07 billion), and Avengers: Infinity War ($2.05 billion) are the other movies that have grossed $ 2 billion at the global belt. Previously Cameron was in the leagues with Anthony and Joe Russo, directors of Infinity War and Endgame, by having more than one $2 billion film.

So it’s a celebration of love. It’s a celebration of the movie, at the same time. And it’s a celebration of the success of the movie as well,” he added.
