Shaakuntalam trailer released: Samantha’s spell-bounding look and Allu Arjun’s daughter Arha’s debut

Today, January 9, the makers of Samantha Ruth Prabhu starrer Shaakuntalam released the trailer of the movie with a grand event in Hyderabad. The trailer has been released in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi as well and it is filled with visual treats for Samantha’s fans.

The trailer started with a shot of a massive kingdom while the narrator is introducing an abandoned baby who is born to Menaka and Viswamithra. The narrator continues and introduces the baby as Shaakuntala and claims she was born with a purpose. A parallel story of King Dushyant’s introduction is shown and later his chemistry with Shakuntala is highlighted in the trailer.

Arha’s entry in Shaakuntalam’s trailer

Many might not know this but Allu Arjun’s daughter Arha has made her debut with Shaakuntalam and she also makes an appearance in the trailer. She is essaying the role of princess Bharata and she makes her entry on a lion.

Coming back to the movie, Shaakuntalaa is directed by Gunasekhar and it marks the first collaboration of the director with Samantha. The movie is based on the play Shakuntala written by Sanskrit poet Kalidas and it also features Mohan Babu, Gautami, Aditi Balan, Prakash Raj, Madhoo, and Ananya Nagalla in other important roles. Made in 3D Shaakuntalam is set to release on February 17 worldwide.
