Tamil Nadu government retracts the ban and allows theatres to screen one more show of Thunivu and Varisu!
Earlier the Tamil Nadu government issued a ban on the morning shows of Ajith Kumar starrer Thunivu and Thalapathy Vijay starrer Varisu from January 13 to 18. The theatre owners association sided against this ban and asked the government for special shows till January 18.
Agreeing to their demand, the Tamil Nadu government has retracted their decision and allowed the theatre owners to have one extra show of Thunivu and Varisu for the next few days. According to the new notice, the theatre owners are allowed to screen one extra show of both movies on January 12, 13, and 18. As they had permission to screen one extra show on January 14 to 17, the theatre owners will now be able to screen the movie normally till 18 of this month.
Coming back to the movie, Thunivu is directed by H Vinoth and financed by Boney Kapoor. The movie opened with Rs 26 crore on the first day and it is getting great reviews from the audience as well.
On the other hand, Varisu is directed by Vamshi Paidipally and financed by Dil Raju. The movie beat Thunivu at the box office and earned Rs 26.5 crore on the opening day. However, Varisu could only earn Rs 17 crore in Tamil Nadu while Thunivu earned Rs 18 crore.
